Now almost 60 years in the calling business, Dave began his career at just thirteen in his hometown of Seattle, Washington. As a young teen, his calling engagements were mostly local festivals and "One-Night-Stands" around the Washington area.
Since those early days, Dave has taken his talent across the globe, calling for countless clubs, Special Dances, and Jamborees in nearly every country in Western Europe—including Sweden, Denmark, England, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany—as well as in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Russia.
His calling repertoire spans from Student Parties and Jamborees to Weekend Specials and Advanced-level workshops. He has also been a featured caller at unique events such as Mediterranean Cruise dances, Ski & Dance vacations, and the prestigious annual European Square and Round Dance College, where he has been a staff and guest caller since 1979. In addition, Dave has been honored to appear at numerous programs during the National Square Dance Conventions in America.
Renowned for his colorful choreography, smooth delivery, and engaging vocal style, Dave brings both challenge and fun to dancers of all experience levels. Wherever Square Dancing thrives, his goal remains the same: to create an inviting, joyful atmosphere while introducing fresh and exciting choreography to every event.
Now retired after a full-time career with the U.S. Forces in Europe, Dave is thrilled to spend even more time with dancing friends—both near his home in the Stuttgart, Germany, area and across the world.
